He graduated from the Nizamia Madressa at Nishapur, with distinction, a very famous educational institution in Nishapur. Later he was appointed as a teacher at the Nizamia College in Baghdad, where he proved very successful in imparting knowledge to the scholars under his care. This valuable gift of sustaining interest of his pupils and passing on his knowledge to them made him so famous that students from all parts of the country flocked to study under him. Imam al-Ghazzali was fondly referred to as the "Hujjat-ul-lslam", Proof of Islam, He is honoured as a scholar and a saint by learned men all over the world.

Ali RA said that Satan cannot create goodness but he can add evil into it. However, for the subscribers of Intellect in the development of the theory of knowledge or signifying how Revealed knowledge will be interpreted, have always subscribed to Ali RA maxim that do not see who says it but what is said. The misuse of this statement outside the boundary of Tradition and Taqwa allowed the subscribers of Intellect make ridiculous assertions in the fields of Ontology, Epistemology, Ethics and Interpretation of Islamic Historical experience.

In developing this attitude he successfully presented the tools for criticizing ideas alien to Islam and also to limit the possibility of knowledge within the Islamic Tradition. What is needed now by Islamic Traditionalists is an understanding of these principles and develop these tools and other such tools from the Traditional sources to fight Post-Modernity, Reformists, Secularity, Capitalism, Liberalism, Urban Cosmopolitanism and Post Islamism.

But all this, is the work of the stalwarts on these fields and not for common consumption. It is only in the acceptance of humankinds limited periphery; weakness and inability to provide any universal maxim that he admits defeat and develops an attitude of recognizing the Ultimate Reality Allah that in His Infinite Mercy sends us His Guidance, The Quran in the heart of His Messenger Muhammad S for the complete guidance of mankind leaving no room for doubt.

In the present age, the free floating anxiety and belated conscience caused by globalization and media makes an impact on our consciousness. A consciousness towards the Hereafter and the resultant attitude towards the world produces a society that is structured on everything that posits itself against the submission to Allah whereas in that collective sphere we as Muslims are seeking submission. This value conflict between in a society structured towards the consciousness of the world and an individual trying to position him towards a better Hereafter creates dilemma.

Moreover, a Spirit and Nature that is eternally bound to Obedience to Allah creates an internal conflict when it is trapped in a body and society that is rebelling against Allah. In this affliction the Conception of Reality Ontology and Knowledge Epistemology derived thereof, individual conscience and collective conscience must all be allied in the constant appreciation that Allah is watching us and we will meet him in the Hereafter.

Only then will this dilemma be completely resolved. This practical demonstration individually and collectively along with the scholarly movement of the Ulema will create the impetus of overcoming the challenges of the present age and beyond. Without the purification of the self, preparing for the Hereafter and embracing a practical and emotional bond to this collective dream we can realize any revolutionary dream for the revival of Islam. To make it simple it has to hit the heart and overwhelm it with the Fear of Allah and the Hope of His Help.

The summary shall be explained in the context of present challenges in order to develop the attitude that the world will continue presenting new afflictions to deflect a Muslims from his obligations and each time he must re-arm himself to fight against it using the Traditional sources and ways. When the individual is capable on then will the collective body Hizb Allah have the capacity to overpower the rebels against Islam. Share this:.
